Following and Print Options

I recently discovered that Smells has a follower. How the heck Hot Mess Housewife was able to follow Smells Like Food in Here, I have no idea. I goofed around trying to figure it out and came up with nothing. To make it easier on anyone else interested, I've added the Follower do-hickey down there under the Labels. Seems I'd omitted it when I did the last face-lift.

As for printing, I've realized that I've always checked the link while signed into Blogger/Google, so it always worked for me. Tonight I tried the print links before signing in and was shocked to find they didn't work! That's been rectified, so give it a try and let me know what you think.

If you are into a one-pot meal with Moroccan flavor, give this dish a spin. Now you can even print the recipe, no foolin'.

Additional Posts with Print Options

I haven't heard anything from anyone about the print options I'd added earlier and have no clue if anyone is utilizing them. Maybe the "click for a printable" link at the very end of posts is simply a dumb location. Does everyone skip my shoulda, woulda, coulda and cost evaluation toward the end of posts and thus never even see the link?

Anyone? Anyone?

That said, I went ahead and added a printable link at the end of the following posts:
Any feedback would be so very nice. My feeling won't be hurt if you tell me I'm being dumb in any way.

Changes to Smells Like Food in Here...including Print Option, though slowly

I've changed a few things:
  1. I returned the Blog Archive and Labels to the right side-bar rather than keeping them at the end of the blog page. Hopefully, that will help you and me search for things of interest as tons of scrolling will not be required.
  2. There is an About Me tab up there next to the Home tab. The About Me is kinda lengthy, but gives the jist of the blog. In depth. Hopefully it'll help make sense of things around here.
  3. I've determined that until I learn to write code, my ideal print option is just not going to be automagically found via Googling.  Until I take that class (or hire a code writer -- sorry, not gonna happen), I will be adding the meat of posts to another site provided by Google (thanks Google Docs!) via a link.
    1. As test runs, I've added a click for a printable link on
      1. this reheating chili post
      2. Cheddar-Zucchini Biscuits
      3. Garlic Butter Roast Chicken and Vegetables
      4. Glazed Lemon Loaf with Rum
Check the links out and provide feedback: is this a total win as is or should I make adjustments?  If it's a go as-is print-wise, I'll move forward with adding printables to new posts as of now as well as adding printables to the older posts incrementally.

Additionally, I intend to change the background to something more reader-friendly, but that turns out to require more updates and tuning of the machine.

Print Option

I'm working on getting a print option on this blog.  I tried to print a recipe direct from it a couple weeks ago and it wanted to print the grey background.  Yikes!  What a waste of ink.

If you have any good hints on how to write a script for the latest Blogger templates and printing select text with a white background, let me know.  I and my few repeat readers would appreciate!

Thus far I've tried a couple of "paste this script in XYZ location" and while they worked, they printed the entire page, photos and comment box and everything.  I'd like to avoid that.

Beyond that, there is an option to open a Google Docs or equivalent that I can post text only recipes I can link to in the blog, but hokey Pete and good golly Miss Molly, that's a lot of work, nevermind the cyberspace to accomplish something that should be quite simple.  Of course, I say this without knowing how to write one iota of code or comput-inglish.
