Alberton's Cultured Lowfat Buttermilk
I don't usually shop at Albertson's; the milk cooler, for some reason seems like it's always below the appropriate temperature, and that bothers me. But when push comes to shove, I'll suck it up and shop there for items, buttermilk included.
So the ingredients in this buttermilk includes cultured skim milk, nonfat milk solids, and salt. And compared to the other brand, it looks really thin, no doubt due to the difference between reduced fat milk and skim. No yellow chunks of butter solids in this either.
Albertson's Cultured Lowfat Buttermilk in the dairy section of Albertson's by the quart for $2.79, making each 1-cup serving about $0.70.
