When a Bruce Aidells recipe says to use chocolate stout I take my happy butt right down to the store and get some.
This giant bottle was about 3 times the quantity that I needed, but I wasn't about to skip it even though the majority would be (brace yourself) dumped down the drain.
I know, I'm an alcohol abuser.
Which is really a shame,
considering that the beer smelled good when opened, compelling me, a beer-is-gross-and-stinky sort of person, to taste it. That in itself says a lot. I can't stand beer.
There's just too much beer action and not enough chocolate for me. The cake though, we'll see if I can eat some of this beer in cake.
